Fishing in the lake was not good as the water hadn't been refilled recently and many fish had died. Would be worth checking if fishing is a big interest.

Lovely spot right next to the lake. Rough road leading to site which is great if you've a FWD but a bit tough on the suspension otherwise. Kids need bikes - the surfaces are not usable for scooters or skateboards! No real play areas for children but many families here so easy to make friends.

Location is fantastic, but the park very run down. You can have good fun there, just don't expect much from the amenities. The cabins are almost falling apart, I recommend a caravan over a Cabin.

Very run down toilets/ shower block but great position near beach.

The site is sheltered from the wind and has a fair amount of tree shade.

There are lots of good beaches around, especially for surfing but not so much for swimming - we didn't see any that had life guards. Main shopping area is Forster 30 minutes away.

I have camped here for the past 55 years. Our whole family loves the natural beauty and we think this is the best natural camping ground in all of Australia as it has access to the lake for small children and the beaches when they get a little bigger. Heaps of great physical activity for kids...gets them off the gadgets. Love it.

The lake was great for swimming and canoeing though as it was shadow, warm and calm and the children loved it.

There are BBQ pits (which we used for a campfire and marshmallow toasting) but no other cooking facilities and minimal washing up facilities. Most people here appeared to be seasoned campers with loads of gear - home from home!

Noisy wildlife in the evenings and mornings - bush turkeys invading any unattended rubbish.

The shop is very basic but the staff friendly. Fairly good toilets and showers which are regularly cleaned.
